Jesse James Hollywood is currently serving Life Without Parole (LWOP) in the California Department of Corrections in connection with the kidnapping and Murder of Nicholas Markowitz in 2000. After the murder, Hollywood fled to Canada and then Brazil. Both the Markowitz family as well as law enforcement offered a reward for information leading to his whereabouts. The reward was originally $30,000 and then increased to $50,000. Hollywood was featured on an episode of America's Most Wanted. United States law enforcement teamed up with Brazilian law enforcement and Hollywood was captured and returned too the United States to face charges. He was convicted along with several co-defendants of charges related to both the kidnapping and suicide. The case inspired the movie "Alpha Dog" which featured Justin Timberlake. Hollywood is currently housed at the R.J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego which is where Joe spoke with him. Hollywood has turned begun a new chapter in his life and routinely works with at risk youth and is a self-proclaimed born again christian who routinely preaches the Bible. Joe spoke with him on several occassions at R. J. Donovan Correctional.
